STAR WARS and STAR TREK Conversions
It goes without saying that any game with spaceships
in it will invariably have some Star Wars or Star Trek fans trying
to change it to their favourite universe... Of course, its the prospect
of driving a Star Destroyer (pictured)in Homeworld that motivates
most Star Wars TC's! Star Trek is the TV show that hardly needs an
introduction. Its secular, utopian future is both clean-cut and super
tidy; its spaceships and technology squeaky clean and its characters
so blandly straight laced and presentable its enough to make you want
to scream. |

A Star Wars mod based on Star
Wars: Episode One. (the one with that hideous creation, Jar
Jar Binks - come back Ewoks, all is forgiven!) This is still at a
very early stage, and the site looks as if its about to move. Current
version 0.12.  |

Star
Wars: New Rebellion: Highly organised, easy to peruse, and alive
with frequent updates. Naturally, its the Rebels fighting the Imperial
Empire in deepest, darkest space. Current version: 8
release 2 patch 0.1 and looking eminently playable! This
mod comes with its own music. Have fun!
I think this used to be Star
Wars: Fleet Academy, a general purpose Homeworld Star Wars
modding site, and SW:NR seems to be all
that is left. The old Star Wars: Invasion (SW:I),
formerly the old Star Wars vs Star Trek mod
is where the Imperial Navy invades the United Federation of Planets.

And man, they look fabulous! The Corellian Corvette's my fave... It
has a few other features like tutorials and othe non-Star Wars models,
like the Apollo program's Command Module,
Space 1999's Eagle transporter and even a
few Homeworld2 ship conversions for Homeworld. |

(Formerly Hiigaria Planetia a.k.a. Star
Trek Homeworld). A big, polished Trek conversion site, with
lots of Trek ships and mods for Homeworld, Cataclysm and Homeworld2.
Actually, it sort of looks like a lot of Trek modders have simply
gathered under the one roof. There's a large number of smart looking
ship models on display, and about half a dozen conversions under construction,
each one simulating a different scenario from the Trek universe. You
also get sounds and maps for the mods as well. And
aaargh! TrekMods.com has disappeared! There are four total
conversions for Homeworld and Cataclysm:
Innocence
and Wrath is based on the original Sixties' Trek series. That's
the first USS Enterprise with Cap'n Kirk and Mr Spock. This total
conversion comes in two halves: the Innocence
and Wrath mod for Homeworld (which is yet to be released),
and Beyond
the Final Frontier for Cataclysm.
Current version: 0.13.
The
Wounded is a Cataclysm mod that refers to a bit of Star
Trek: The Next Generation's back story of a massive space
war between the Cardassians and the Federation.
Current version: 0.22.
Sacrifice
of Angels recreates Deep Space 9's Dominion
War and comes with its own maps - this is quite impressive
and there's even some great shield effects. This is the most complete
of these mods; current version: 0.95.
